Nena is a short name for Elena in Italian but could also refer to "baby" as in Spanish NENE for "baby"as well. =Peter=

Thank you Peter. I guess in this case it must be his nickname. He was the youngest of his family.

Sabino De Luca emigrated from Santa Lucia Di Serino in the Avellino Province on the Neckar, departing from Naples and arriving on March 24, 1904 at Ellis Island. He settled in Manhattan, NY. I am looking for any De Luca family members in S. Lucia Di Serino.

The name JACK in Italian is GIACO or GIACCO and this comes from the Encyclopedia Brittanica rather than a website from where Elenia is indicated as being the formal name for Nena.

Further the French call Jack JAQUE =Peter=

Dear Livio the inqujirer wants to know how to say JACK in Italian and not from where the Jack name is derived. The derived name is as you state but that is not a direct translation of the name Jack. =Peter=

Its nice to know that the Encyclopedia Brittanica recitation on first names in Italy is in error and that of Livio is correct!! =Peter=
