Sassi history

Post by allitalian1 »

Hi:

My mom's maiden name is Sassi. She has been told her family was from Naples. Her dad was Fiori Sassi, my mom is Grace Sassi and her brother was Frank Fiori Sassi. Her mother was Anna Sassi. Anna Sassi's maiden name was Ranelli. She had a sister Filomena and a brother Jim.

Can anyone help me in knowing what town they were from?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

can you tell us if this census is correct for your ancestors's family??
if this document is ok (it's from the Ancestry.com site) it shows that both Fiore (sr) and Anna were born in NY....
But we can search the previous censuses to find their parent's names... and from that their arrival manifest... If we are lucky they might list the birth place.. :D

Hello Laura:

Yes, that information is correct. Anna and Fiori are my grandparents. Grace is my mom who is alive and healthy at 83 and Fiori is her brother. Her brother passed away about three years ago.

My grandparents were born in the U.S. and lived near Little Italy, manhatten most of their lives.

I am trying diligently to find out abour Anna's parents. Her maiden name was Ranelli. Further, I am trying to find out about Fiore' parents.

Thanks for the help. I truly appreciate it.

Hello John!
It appears that both Anna and Fiori had Social Security numbers?
For information on their parents, you may want to order this,
if you can't find them on census and other records..
Valarie

Their SS#'s are available here if you don’t already have them:

Hi,

Don't know if you have this info, but here is Fiori and Anna's marriage info. Perhaps you might find some info here.
