Looking for grandfather info

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Hi sfc66, I see your ancestor was living in Fairport,NY. My family resided in East Rochester and also in Fairport. The USCIS search can be painfully long. You may try searching for census reports by signing up for the free trial at ancestry.com and for naturalization records try the Monroe County clerks office to check out any possible naturalization papers. If he did naturalize it most likely will be available there. Here is the # 585-753-1620 and ask for either Kathy or Irwin. As far as birth certificates go, since you have the name of the Comune here is a link to the towns profile:
http://en.comuni-italiani.it/078/061/
Your lucky they have an email address for you to contact them or send a letter to request his birth certificate.
Hope this is of some assitance !

My USCIS request has been underway since end of November. I'm sure you all know how that goes, and I admit my impatience. In the meantime I've hit a dead end and wondering if anyone can be of help.

Im looking for information on my paternal grandfather. Unfortunately I have limited contact with the Caruso side.

I cant find anything on Ellis Island site or with census.

Name: Anthony (probably Antonio) G. Caruso
SSN#121-12-4487 (issued NY before 1951)
Born: 5/25/1914
Town: Guardia, Italy (dont know which one of the four)
Died: 6/17/1972 Fairport, NY
Wife: Mary Caruso (maiden: Farina)- also born in Italy.
Father: Giuseppe Caruso
Mother: Filomena Caruso (maiden: Manzi)
Brothers: Armand (deceased), Michael (alive)
Sisters: Marianna (Campisi) - deceased

He died a U.S. citizen.
I don't know any emigration, naturalization or marriage information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi most probably the town is Guardia Lombardi.. this could be the first trip of Giuseppe Caruso, wife Filomena in Guardia Lombardi
