For my last question, do you think that the family Calvi was named after the town of Calvi? Or was the town of Calvi named after the family? Thanks.
Hi: hoping well understood.. are various version for origin Calvi surname:
1- coming from roman name Calvus

2- or means "inhabitant of Calvi town..in Italy are many Calvi towns, in various region, but are interesting story of Calvi Risorta town in Campania region (Caserta province- sure more ancient) and this name town has origin from "Cales" name.
Version origin name:
a)- name town second legend coming from Calai son of Orizia nymph and Borea argonaut(of Argo ship-captain Giasone.. mythology)

b)- or also from greek word "caleo"=union(union people)and also to join, to group

In origin this town are lived from Calai/Caleni people, and subsequently pertaining from ancient people Ausoni and Etruschi around X°-VIII° century a.C....
and after in the time pertaining Romans people (around 334 a.C.)..
In 883 d.C. the name town are Calvi..

In italian Middle age, when they were instituted the surnames, many people coming from Calvi town(ancient Cales)they assumed for surname, the name of birthplace...

Drago is either a fabled dragon or an aromatic herb but its actually an imported greek name Draconis, and in classical greek Drakon or Drakonos. Most likely came to Italy via early greek colonies in sicily and southern italy. Peter
