I need help with translation

Post by tenby »

I picked a couple of names at random on facebook with the same surname as my ggreatgrandfather I have a reply but its in Italian.

Can someone please translate.

Thank you Lynne

Dolente, non so l'inglese! Buona fortuna!

Why are you writing to the comune of Verrua Savoia when the guy on Facebook suggested to write to the comune of Scarmagno?

Lynne,
Scarmagno is a small town in Torino (Turin) province in the Piemonte (Piedmont) Region, the e-mail for the Comune di Scarmagno is:

scarmagno@comune.scarmagno.to.it

Just 2 kms from Scaragno there is a hamlet "Bessolo" from where probably originated the "Bessolos". The Deputy Mayor's surname is "Bessolo" and that's also the surname of a councilman in the City Hall.
You have to write a request in Italian and you can look for Form letters here
Il Circolo Calabrese.

Here is also a link to the Scarmagno City Hall but it's in Italian. Is there any other info you need?
