Gargiulo family
Gargiulo family
If anyone has extra time and can help me in anyway it would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for info on my great-grandmother's family. Her name was Edith Gargiulo Mirabella. I need info on her parents Raffaele Gargiulo and his wife Angelina. They were from Italy, born in the 1870s and immigrated to New York in the early 1900s. Any info will help. Thanks!!!

Thanks a lot guys!
Re: Gargiulo family
There is at least one other Raffaele Gargiulo in NY born abt the same time.
This may be the correct manifest for your Raffaele
Names transcription by Ellis Island 8O
possible 1899 manifest
23 May 1899 SS Archimede, Naples to NY
lines 16-17
Raffaele Garginlo 23, abt 1876
- Tailor
- last residence Taranto
- destination NY
- joining brother Alfredo
(may be Taranto, Apulia)
Angiolina Jania 20, abt 1879
Surname is probably Fania
edit: corrected brother's name

Re: Gargiulo family
Thanks vj, this info is definately correct because I had heard that the family was from Taranto - I'm so happy!
Re: Gargiulo family
That's terrific !
It really helps when the manifest has the last residence on it, the earlier manifests generally didn't.
