Mirabella Family

Post by NCJE2910 »

This website is amazing!! - I need help on my GG-grandparents: Giuseppe (Joseph) & Catherina (Catherine) Mirabella. They were both born in Italy in the 1870s, (supposedly from Calabria), and by the late 1900s they were in New York. I dont know where they were in between or anything but I know my G-Grandfather, Salvatore was born in NY in 1907. Any info would help me out a lot. Thanks so much.

Aimola and Stinziano Surname

Post by Patricia1 »

Aimola surname. My grandparents immigrated around 1901 to Peterborough Ontario Canada. They were from Rocca San Giovanni Abruzzo. Both grandparents had the same surname, Aimola. Apparently a lot of Aimola's lived in Rocca San Giovanni.

Another family surname is Stinziano.

Has anyone information on these two surnames?

Thank You.

Your seeking information on their tow of originin Italy and the late 1900's in NYC. Start atr ellisisland.org and locate Giuseppe Mirabella your GGrandfather and your GGmother and her maiden name which an Italian woman never loses only the children take on the fathers surname.

Go to www.ellisisland.org and see if you can locate which of the 32 Giuseppe Mirabella is your GGrandfather and let us know so that you can obtain all the documents you want free of charge. =Peter=

Okay, I think the Giuseppe Mirabella is the one on Ellis Island that came in 1894 from Rende, Italy to Chicago. Im not sure exactly but the date he came, the date he was born, his occupation, and his last residence all appear to be correct. The only problem is the fact that it says he went to Chicago. My Giuseppe came to New York; maybe he went to Chicago first and later moved to NY. I dont know if this helps but, thanks. :)
