Note:
daughter Maria appears to be several years younger than the
Mary Figone on the 1910 census...
But, there may be an error on the manifest
- son/brother? Joseph/Giuseppe's age is off
also compared to the 1910 census

Thanks for the link. You know, I tried finding her birth certificate under the last name Rizzo in both Pietra Ligure and Ceriana, but there was nothing. I guess I might need to try under "Villa", the mother's maiden name?? Perhaps Pietro Rizzo was her second husband or something?? If you look on the manifest, the children's last names were "Villa", but lightly written over with "Rizzo".

Also, I had to guess about her age because on this 1907 manifest it says she was 8, but she got married three years later (in California). According to that marriage certificate, it says she was 16. The 1910 census taken later that year says she was 17. My grandfather was born 31 Oct 1910, and it says on his birth certificate that she was 16.

Actually, I just found her church matrimonial certificate, which states she was baptized in Ceriale, and thus was not from Ceriana, as written on the manifest! Furthermore, Ceriale is much much closer to Pietra Ligure and in the same province of Savona. Ceriana is in the province of Imperia near San Remo. At the very least I should now be able to get her baptismal record, but probably the birth document. Having solved my problem, I am ready to leap for joy, but I will wait until I have actually found it first. Grazie mille per tutto.

This is the website for Ceriale, the comune where my GGM was born, but I don't see anything pertaining to the Stato Civile and where to write to for her birth record. Can someone please help me.
