Looking for relatives and history Sammartino & Casciola

Post by dcbennett73 »

My great grand parents names were Niccolo (Nick) Casciola and Ersilia Sammartino. They, as far as I know came from Sant'Eusanio and Agnone respectively. I was trying to see if there were some descendants or others who had any additional information about their ancestry.

Hello!
I was looking at your family page on ancestry. com.
It appears that you've found g-grandmother's, Ersilia Sammartino's, 1907 manifest and your g-grandparent's 1930 census in Colorado.
Did you need assistance in locating other US records or are you primarily interested in researching your family in Italy?
Thanks, Valarie

There are several ways you could research Nick Casciola's family in Italy

You could also review your family’s records on microfilm.

Your nearest Family History Center has records for Sant'Eusanio Forconese on microfilm.
The cost is about $6 mo (rent), you’ll need to go to the center to order & view them.

Hi, my name is Daniel Sammartino and I am great gran son of Giusepe Sammartino. Giusepe was son of Alfonso Sammartino and Francesca Ferrara, all from Agnone, Isernia, Molise. Giusepe brother Antonio and other sisters went to the US, while Giusepe came to Argentina. In the records I see many siblings, but I dont see Giusepe.
Any info will be appreciated

I have no direct information but it looks like Giuseppe would have been a brother to Ersilia Sammartino who is my Great Grand Mother. This means you and I would be second cousins. Although I am unaware of Giuseppe specifically, I have information that the daughters and sons of Alfonso Sammartino and Francesca Ferrara were: Ersilia, Somatiata, Antonio, Guiliano, Angelina, Maria Rosa, & Filippina. I am very interested in expanding in confirming this and/or finding descendants of these siblings to my GGM. When was Giuseppe born?

Hi Dennis, from my records, Giuseppe was born in Agnone, Provincia di Campobasso, on 19 march, 1881 from Alfonso and Francesca Ferrara.

He told my grand father (his son) that all the other sibblings went to the US, while he came to Argentina.

Yes, Giuseppe (Jose) married Elvira Andreotti, and had 3 children: Alfonso, Roberto (my grand father) and Estela. Alfonso died young, but my grandfather died in 1992 at 84, and Estela died 2 months ago. My grandfather marrried Rosa Raimondo and had one child, my father Roberto, who died in 1995. Estela had one child Edith, who also lives in Argentina, and is 70. My father had 4 children, myself (50), and 3 girls, Adriana (45), Veronica (43) and Maria Eugenia (35). I have 4 children, one boy Nicolas (22). He is the only male with the last name Sammartino, descentes os Giuseppe.
Hope it helps. I would like to know more about all the siblings that went to the US.
Thanks Daniel

Hi Dennis, do you think you may provide me with information about the descendents of the 7 siblings that went to the US?

Thanks a lot, Daniel
