I have just fond out were my Great Grandmother came from. She was from Rocca D'Evandro, Caserta. I found a distant relative, who came back to Belfast after living in Florida for 20 years. He had an old passport belonging to her. It gave the place she lived, and her date of birth 19th March 1864.
I am now writing to the comune in Rocca D'Evandro for the Certificate of Family Status. I would like to know if this is the right approach.

Go to http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html
The form lettters are in Italian and documents are free of charge.
The adress can be found if you go to www.nonsolocap.it and put in Rocca D'Evandro and click cerca and when web page comes with zip code and name and province intials lick on the name and a website will come up. Scroll down to Municipio for the address to mail to the Uffico di Stato Civile. =Peter=

Re: Capitano Family
Thank you Peter. I will post the letter today. Any idea how long it takes for them to reply. I know Italians are pretty slow.
