Did he come over from Europe? What year do you believe he did.

Love to help just need some preliminary facts to go by.

That's all we have. That is the problem. I am hoping someone remembers this family.

I am an Search Angel for adoption reunions. Thanks to the laws of the state of NY, you have all the information the agency has given us on the father of the person I am assistin. He is the son, the 9th child. Most states will ive first names at least, but NY is very tight with information. we have much less information than this on the mother. We have tried the barber licensing bureau but they only keep 6 years of information. We are trying to find someone to look up in the County and City directories for around the year of my client's birth (1967) to get a list of barbers. He does not appear to be on the social security death index.
I posted here on the off chance that Italian-Polish barbers who had 9 children and died around 1963 (that is a correction. I had a typo in my earlier posting) were not all that common and it might strike a chord with someone.

Hi

Just to summarize. You are looking for:

A male - name & age unknown
he lived and worked in Erie County, NY
occupation barber
was of Italian and Polish descent
died in 1963
had 9 children, the youngest born in 1967

Not a lot of facts to go on and some questions.
1. How does one die in 1963 and father a child in 1967
2. How do you know he is not in the SSDI if you do not know his name?

youngest child was born in 1951, the child fathered a child at the age of 16 in 1967. I checked all the SSDI for Italian-Polish heritage or to see if they had children by 1930. All with italian or polish surnames were totally Italian or Polish (Immigrant or first generation) I also checked names that most likely coul have been name changes ruling out names like Emmett Stone

Get back to the origin for your inquiry and see if you (they?) missed something like an old photo/postcard type thing they used years ago or some old letter or even "sounds like" anything will do!! =Peter=

You are looking for a needle in a haystack. One suggestion, if you have the time to research.

Make a list of all the newspapers published in the year the father died that covered the Erie County area. Start reviewing the obits.

Good Luck

TYpical for an adoption reunion search but I solve most of the eventually.

There are not many obits available for the time period.

Thanks.
