Research the Allessandria & Asti Civil Records on Ancestry, and "Castell'alfero" is not an option under location . Should I be looking under the more general area of Calliano or somewhere else?
Does this old place name have a more recent name?
Looking for birth records from years 1881 and 1883.
Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

Go to www.tuttitalia/piemonte/14-castell-alfero and scroll down to municipio and send a form letter requesting a document or documents you are seeking and see what response you get re location or existence of ciivl records.
Go to http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html for the form letter. There is no charge as it is free. =Peter=
