Thank you so much. This is great stuff!!!

Why is it listed as "Gwco"? Is that an alternate spelling or just a misspelling? Thanks again.

John, it may be a transcription error in this case.
Although census records can be inaccurate depending
upon the knowledge of the person giving the information
(and the ability of the census enumerator to understand
them), this time the name may have been difficult to
decipher.

Saverio and Teresa were my great grandparents.

Their children are mispelled in this thread.

Ermenio
Archie
Pierina
Attilio
Carolyn
Gilda
Mary
Eugene
Justin
Dino
Eleanor

Of all of them only great aunt gilda is left, she just turned 80 a couple months ago and still gets around great.
We lost Carolyn last year very unexpectedly.

My grandfather, Dino, was the first to go of them in '67 from premature hardening of the arteries. He served in the United States Navy.

Teresa Calabretta died in 1956 and Saverio in 1962. Both died in Mount Carmel, Pa.

Saverio was bore to Dominico and Marianna (Vivaldo) and Teresa to Francesco and Rosaria (Bressi).
