Hello!
I get the 'Access Newspaper Archive' as one of my memberships.
I was surprised to find so many newspapers from WI included.
It really is a wonderful resource
I forgot to add the link to the article on traditional Italian naming patterns that is on our site here:

No records for Great Great Grandmother
Re: No records for Great Great Grandmother
I'm sorry I missed the passenger list for Jenny and the information about her and Salvatore's father. I will check out those links.
Thanks,

Re: No records for Great Great Grandmother
From a better view of the 1910 census for Sam and Polly I noticed that the persons living next door included also some Molinaro:
Molinaro Pepino? age 17 living with Recchia Raffaele and wife Gaetana and next family was Molinari Michele and wife Anna...
It was common that relatives or persons from the same places were living in the same areas...
Found some itneresting arrival manifests of persons that could have been related to Palma...
from http://www.ellisislandrecords.org/
August 21, 1907: arrival manifest for Annunziata Rovella (age 54) married, last residence Marano Principato - Cosenza Province (just 5 miles form Rende) .. leaving her husband Ignazio Molinaro in Marano and joining her son Michele Molinaro on 1013 James street - Kenosha - WI
She was travelling with her daughter Carmela Molinaro, age 20, married
Them both stated Rende as place of birth

August 13, 1911: Ignazio Molinaro arrival manifest, age 68, from Marano to Kenosha, joining his wife Annunziata Molinaro and sons Michele and Pietro in Kenosha, 1013 Garden? street (Marano is stated as place of birth).
He was travelling with his son Raffele Molinaro age 33, married, who was joining his wife Teresa in Kenosha. They stated they were in the U.S. before (Kenosha is listed al last residence but Ignazio declared he lived also 2 years in Chicago))

I belive it should be helpful to search better for these persons... maybe they were Palma's family?

Re: No records for Great Great Grandmother
This is Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! It brought me to tears.
But it leads to another question, why would she be listed under her maiden name if she was married? Or was it just a mix up in the recording process.

Re: No records for Great Great Grandmother
Thank you all!
Because here in Italy women retain their maiden names for all their lifes even if married... so it was normal for a woman to be listed under her maiden name..
