Yes, dominic is the brother but, I have oct 1895 as his birth. I am not sure where I got that month. It must have been on some document. I have no notation on the source. Many the censuses?
I did send for a marriage record and never heard a thing. Because I only have the parents for this couple and the FHL records only go to 1860 for this town, I have no other info.
I do know a nephew came to live with them..I believe I found two nephews. And from Vincenzos obit, I know that he has a sister (the mother of one of the nephews. It didnt list her first name..it just gave Mrs..and her last name.
Anybody want to take a shot at finding this?
Re: Anybody want to take a shot at finding this?
Ok..the 1900 cencus shows the month and year for his birth as oct 1895.
If this is not so, and its actually april of 96, then she (Maria) could have come any time in 1895.
On a side note..now, I dont know which date to use as his birth..lol

Usually the information closer to the event is the correct info. NOT always, but usually.
Ok, let's see if we can find addtional info that might help.

Biff....
There appears to be a document for Giuseppe as a result of WWI....could be a different one, I guess.
But there is one for Vincenzo in PA...could this be the father?
Don't have access for the actual doc's.

The records on footnote and Ancestry in the Middle District of PA are for a Giuseppe Dallesandro, born 1896, residence Mayfield PA, service in WWI. I haven't located one for Vincenzo but will check.

Early on, I tried to send for birth records for some of the children. They are in Luzerne county. I even called there. Apparently, there was a fire at some point and so many records were destroyed for the period I needed.
The one I was able to get, was the birth of my mother in law. Instead of photocopying what they had, they filled in a certificate (type written). You could see it was newly typed.
The surname for the mother, wasnt even Italian. I could tell, they couldnt read it, so they typed in what they thought they saw.
What I could get from social security for the sons..had different surnames for the mother..similar..but not the same.
I did a search on one of those sites, that show you which surnames show now, in what areas. There are no Vitra, Vitri, Vitra..in that region..and very few anywhere else. There was..Veltra/Veltri (which was what someone told my sister in law it was and what appeared on my mother in laws obit. But, ellis searches brought me nothing on either of those.
I always suspected I would be able to find the passenger record..because I had the sons name...but apparently, I cant seem to find it that way, either.

Re: Anybody want to take a shot at finding this?
I found something interesting on the name Dallesandro, Guiseppe born about 1895 in Italy. He arrived in Port Huron, Michigan from his residence in Canada. Guiseppi's father listed as Guiseppi D'Allesandro of Benevento. There is also a Nicola D'Allesandro several lines up, her mother listed as Francesca D'Allesandra from Italy. I can't make out the town but it definately starts with the letter "B" and could very well be Benevento. This is on Ancestry.com I found it through Guiseppi Dallesandro, Border crossings 1895-1956. Hope this helps you.

My grandmother and grandfather were Maria and Vincenzo d'allesandro. The had the following children and resided in Old Bostob Settlement where my cousins still reside. The children were Josepg, Rocco, Lena, Jenny, Dominick, Eufemia ( my mother), Mary, and Lucy. My grandparents records were destroyed in a fire and that is why it is difficult to trace the. Are you a descendant, or your husband, of Rocco?
