Newark Vice-Consulate to be elevated to Full Consulate -11/1

Post by PaulinNY » 02 Oct 2008, 12:22 ... Messaggio/

"Dear friend,

The Vice Consulate of Italy in Newark, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy in New York, is proud to serve Italian citizens living in Northern and Central New Jersey, and all those in this area who wish to establish a link with Italy.

This office faces widening tasks and challenges, serving a numerous and successful community which is entitled to important rights and duties such as the vote in the Italian political elections.
Such aforementioned deeds will furthermore increase starting November 1, 2008, date in which the Vice Consulate in Newark will be formally elevated to the status of Consulate, along with the extension of its territorial jurisdiction to three new counties (Mercer, Somerset and Hunterdon).
This decision is a signal of utmost importance and simultaneous great attention from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs towards the Italian and Italian-American communities resident in New Jersey. Thus, we are honored to use all of our available resources to give the public an ever improving service.

This website is aimed at increasing the services and the opportunities the Vice Consulate offers to the community. Please take advantage of our online services. The site is a work in progress, and with your help we hope to make your access to Italy and to the Italian Government easier and more productive.

With best regards,

Andrea Barbaria
Vice Consul"
