Pictures on Naturaliazation certificates

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Pictures on Naturaliazation certificates

Post by sal4 » 20 Jun 2009, 23:04

On my Grandfather's Naturalization 1943 certificate his picture is on the document, and I have noticed that other relatives certificates don't have their picture. Is there a reason why there's no picture on their documents? and my second question is...I have a few relatives that have been Naturalized and I can't find the documents.. I have Ancestry.com and still nothing....Any suggestion on what I may be doing wrong? Thanks.......Sal4 :?

I think pictures are a more recent innovation, "recent" being a relative term.

Ny Nonno's certificate from 1927 has no picture; my Nonna's certificate from 1943 has a picture.
