Nicholas Michael DeAlexandra, wife Queen Annie Ella Tally

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Nicholas Michael DeAlexandra, wife Queen Annie Ella Tally

Post by hdealexandra »

Help! Nicholas Michael DeAlexandra was born in Italy around 1880, he changed his name to this, but all I have to go on for his original name was possibly his mother's maiden name of Bapista!! He married Ella Tally in the USA!! Please help! I cannot find anywhere that has his original name and do not know where to go next. The story handed down in family goes he was supposedly italian royalty and changed his name to escape Italy during the war..

Hello!
We would be happy to see what we can do to help.

Where did they live in the US?
What were their childen's names?
Any detail you can think of may help us find some records.

Also, so we don't duplicate your research, does the "Tally/Morrison/Thompson/McConnell Family Tree" on ancestry. com belong to you?

Thank you!
Valarie

If this is the correct record, you could order his SS Application ($27).
It should have his place of birth and parent's names.

(Order a copy of the application, not an extract of the information)

That family tree on ancestry.com does not belong to me. His children's names were jessie lee dealexandra dob 26 nov 1914, florence vivian dealexandra dob 22 apr 1920, nicholas clifford dealexandra dob14 apr 1927. We have a complete family tree of everyone once they are in the U.S. and Canada, but from what i can find nick michael was born over in europe somewhere :(

His italian surname would be De Alessandro and there are 3 inSicily. 2 in Catania Province, 1 inMessina Province and one business listing(?) in Palermo.

Go to www.paginebianche.it and put in De Alessandro in the first line and Sicilia in the second line and click Cerca. =Peter=

Just posting this for you to look at and decide if it is a possibility. If he married in the US, he had to arrive at some point. Do you have any idea of the date of his marriage to Ella?

Hi hdealexandra,
Nick and Ella were My Grandparents. I've seen You on Ancestry Website, so some of Your questions may have been answered already, but I'll write here to clearify. No 'Annie' in Ella's name, but She had a sister Annie. Nick may have come in the country under the name of D'Alessandro. He was born in Bergerie, LeHavre,Seine, Haute-Normandie, France... not Italy. They came here by choice, no war. His Father's name was Frank D'Alessandro, and Frank came from the Batisto & Stella's. They came in through Boston. Nick & Ella were married in Canada. I could go on, but why don't You ask the questions.
P.S. - no royalty, sorry.
