I found a couple of errors on my grandparents marriage certificate. They spelled her last name Polozzolo instead of Palazzolo. I contacted Wayne County, Detroit area, and I was told the only way to amend it is by Court Order. I told them I had her birth certificate but they said I needed to have a court order to change it. I am in California. Just thought some of you would like to know.
I have tried to find any Michigan court form to correct the spelling and have been unable to find anything. I do not want to do a name change only correct the spelling error. I have my mother's birth certificate from Michigan which shows the correct spelling. Does anyone know what form needs to be filed?
