My daughter is pursuing dual citizenship. We tried last year for an appointment and were told to try again in January 2011. Well, we have an appt. at the Chicago Consulate in a few weeks -- thought it would be months from now!! Anyway, we have great grandparents' marriage certificate from their church, but according to the Alabama Vital statistics department, they do not have marriage certificates prior to 1936. We need one from 1914. We did, however, obtain the marriage license, marriage bond and marriage affidavit and are having those translated. Do you think this will be enough?? Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.
