Chicago Consulate based on S.F. file

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Chicago Consulate based on S.F. file

Post by Steverino3006 »

My sister will be applying for J.S. in the Chicago Consulate. I have been recognized via the San Francisco consulate, so she should be able to use my S.F. file and then provide her papers subsequent to my father.

Anyone have any experience in applying in Chicago based on another consulate's file?

I'm not familiar with the process at the Chicago consulate but my mother is applying in Philadelphia and using documents I submitted in San Francisco.

You will want to contact San Francisco and have them send "Copie Conforme" to Chicago.

I believe the charge is $10 per page.

Your statement makes it sound like the second consulate will be making its determination from scratch. I thought they accepted the determination of the first consulate as to all common info (i.e. up through my dad) and began their process from that point.
