citizenship through marriage

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

citizenship through marriage

Post by roobyred »

For citizenship through marriage, my husband needed to be fingerprinted and cleared by NYS. Does this paperwork have to be certified by Westchester County Clerk's office before I obtain the Apostille?
I called the clerks office and was transferred 3 times and no one could answer this question. :(
His Consulate appointment in next week.
Can someone help, please?

Hi roobyred,

I received a good conduct letter for my wife from NYS just a few weeks ago and had it Apostilled without any further certification.

Good luck,

You are very welcome Roberta.
May I ask what procedure you used to pay the 200 Euro? Did you use a bank or where you able to do it online?
Our Appt is next month and its the final piece of the puzzle for us.

Thanks,
Drew

citizenship through marriage swear-in

Post by roobyred »

Today after completing all the paperwork at the NY Consulate, they informed my husband he would be sworn-in (certainly not today or anytime soon) and he had to say it in Italian.

Does anyone know where I can find this information? My husband needs a lot of practice. Maybe that's the reason for waiting 730 days!

Thanks Roberta

That is great news Roberta!!! Congrats! My wife will have to use the Rosetta Stone program to brush up on her Italian.

Can I ask what document for proof of payment did you submit to the consulate. I have the wire transfer form from my bank, will that do?
