Hello,
I have an appointment with the consulate in January. I'm trying to prepare as much as possible. I have read on various website that the 2/3 year of marriage requirement is cut in half if the couple has a child(ren) together. My husband and I have been married nearly 2yrs and have a 7mo son together. Can we apply for citizenship together since we have met the 1.5yr of marriage req (if this is correct)?
*i tried searching the site, but I didn't find anything pertaining to this question.
Citizenship through marriage, time req cut in half w/ child?
Re: Citizenship through marriage, time req cut in half w/ ch
I should note that I am not an italian citizen yet myself.

Your Italian citizenship must first be recognized by your consulate - and your marriage registered at the comune - before your husband can apply for citizenship by marriage. His application will be processed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Rome and it can take up to 2 years.
