Berutti

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Berutti

Post by granddaughter16 »

I am trying to find out some information regarding my gr grandfather Giovanni Berutti and gr grandmother Antonio Berutti (not sure of her maiden name). I know my gr uncle was born in 1891 while his parents were visiting Italy, I think it was the Piedmont region. I not sure, but I think he was one of 3 brothers. I cannot find any info regarding what ship/port they arrived at even though I was told they went to Italy two times after first arriving in America. They settled in Southern Illinois. I would love to find something out about them in Italy. So far, I have nothing other than a copy of my gr uncle's Italian birth certificate. Thanks to all who read this and for your help.

Hi Tessa
There is also San Colombano Belmonte, Province of Turin, in the Canavese area where the surname Berutti can still be found today

to Paola52

I'm sorry for the long delay in answering your question. Our son was sick and passed away so it has taken me awhile to get back to my genealogy inquiries. Thank you for you willingness to help.

My great uncle was born and registered in Alice Superiore. My great-grandparents were visiting relatives when he was born. I was hoping to find birth info for my great-granparents in that area, but the records to go back to 1857 as far as I can find.

I appreciate any help you can give me in this matter.
