Good day, i was a dual citizen until age of 5. When my parents divorced and my mom (from South Africa) remarried a foreigner and my surname changed to that of the stepfather via adoption. Will it still be possible to claim citizenship from my natural Italian father even though he signed me to a new father?
If you obtained Italian citizenship from your birth father, I believe you retained that citizenship even after you were adopted. I am assuming that your birth certificate gives the name of your Italian father.
