Family from Palermo

I am looking for any info on Gaetano SALTALAMACCHIA (no dates) married Rosa MICELI. They had at least one child named Giuseppe SALTALAMACCHIA (no dates) married Rosa RAIA on January 31, 1875.
 
 Childre of Giuseppe and Rosa:
 
 1. Gaetano SALTALAMACCHIA b. 2/20/1875. Came to America in 1911 but,
 have yet to find a passenger record for him, even through Ellis Island.
 2. Giacomo SALTALAMACCHIA b. 12/9/1878. Came to America but, do not
 know when.
 3. Rosa SALTALAMACCHIA b. 1/8/1882.
 4. Giovanni SALTALAMACCHIA b. 5/4/1884 in Lercara Friddi & d. 2/26/1932
 in New York. He married Margherita LaPAGLIA b. 9/16/1888 in Grotte (AG)
 & d. 11/1989 in Waterbury, Connecticut. They were married 2/7/1909 in
 Lercara Friddi. Giovanni came to America through Ellis Island on 9/9/1913.
 Margherita and three girls came to America through Ellis Island on
 2/3/1915. (Giovanni and Margherita are my great grandparents)
 5. Salvatore SALTALAMACCHIA b. 1/24/1887
 6. Leonarda SALTALAMACCHIA b. 5/11/1889
 7. Salvatore SALTALAMACCHIA b. 12/25/1892
 8. Luigi SALTALAMACCHIA b. 5/18/1894
 9. Francesco SALTALAMACCHIA b. 2/17/1898
 10. Maria SALTALAMACCHIA b. 9/15/1900
 
 Parents of Rosa RAIA were Giacomo RAIA and Leonarda GRECO.
 Parents of Margherita LaPAGLIA were Salvatore LaPAGLIA and Pietra UNKNOWN.
 
 Any info on any of these people would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :-]

We do not conduct research but merely direct you to appropriate websites and addresses for persons and official locations for documents. inititally what I can tell you is that oimmigrants could have entered the USA at a port other than NYC. Go to www.genealogylookups.com/narchives.htm and submit a form 81 passenger arrivals record for Gaetano so that the Government record keeping office NARA in Washington, D.C. can give you the correct information. Thanks. I will do that. What documents could I send for that would list someone\'s parents? Also, what places and documents could I send for in Italy that would give info?

You have toi go to the town of origin for the person you are interested in and furnish their full name and date of birth. You can request birth,marriage or death records from UFFICIO DI STATO CIVILE. COMUNE DI............(put in town name and postal code. Go to the left under databases for towns in Italy), Province of........., Region of......., Italy. Send a request in Italian by going to www.italianancestry.com under part 3 for form lettersd in Italian. Send a self addressed envelope and enclose a $5.00 in US or EURO dollar for stamps. Please let me know if you need the postal code and other information. Peter

I haven\'t thought of that but I will remember to do that in the future. I was able to find my great grandparents on the Ellis Island site . I just can\'t seem to find his brother and unfortunately I do not know his wife\'s maiden name.
