Naturalization question

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Naturalization question

Post by cwinters76 » 28 Oct 2017, 01:45

I've searched the forum, but did not quite see my situation. I apologize if I am going over a topic that was already discussed.

My great grandfather emigrated to the US in 1898 when he was 17 or 18. It seems he did not come with his parents. He married in NY, and my grandfather was born in 1917. In 1924, my great grandfather naturalized. Will the fact that my GGF came over as a minor, but naturalized as an adult affect my ability to claim Italian citizenship?

Thank you in advance for your help.
