So I qualify? Italian citizenship

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

So I qualify? Italian citizenship

Post by locuspetal »

Just double checking with what you guys think but I'm pretty sure I qualify. I'm applying for citizenship through my paternal side (my dads mother). She was born in 1934 and came to the USA in 1947. She married an American in 1955 and had my father in 1958. For some reason, she did not naturalize until 1967 (I have the paperwork). From my understanding, Italian women could only hold citizenship before 1948 and we're allowed to pass it down to any children born after 1948. Is this correct?

You have a good case and don't have to worry about anything 1948 related regarding your paternal grand-mother.
