Acquiring Citizenship through sibling.

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Acquiring Citizenship through sibling.

Post by JohnFR »

I have done a fair amount of research, but I have not come across anything that discusses eligibility through siblings. Both of my grandparents immigrated to Canada from Italy, however, they both became Canadian citizens in 1958. My dad was born after they became Canadian citizens which means my dad is ineligible for Italian citizenship. My dad's brother, however, was born before my grandparents became Canadian citizens which means he is eligible. If my dad's brother gets his dual citizenship with Italy would this make my dad eligible for Italian citizenship?
