Changes to citizenship laws

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Changes to citizenship laws

Post by Benjamin71 »

Has anyone heard anything about changes to the Italian citizenship laws?

I believe Silvio Berlusconi was about to introduce a change that would allow children of Italians who reacquired their Italian citizenship after their children were born, to then be granted Italian citizenship regardless of their age.

I'm under the impression that both sides were in support of this change, so I guess the fact that Romano Prodi is PM will still see the changes introduced assuming what I've been told is correct.

If anyone could verify I would be curious to know.

Thanks in advance.
