Having Trouble Finding Birth Certificate In Noto, Italy

Post by kelbel » 23 Apr 2008, 23:59

Hi,

A contact I have in Italy has been trying to help me find a copy of my Great-Grandfather's birth certificate from February 8, 1887 in Noto. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can track this down? It is needed for dual citizenship and is the last document that I need. I was just told that Noto is known as a rough area and that it is difficult to find documents there. Does this sound right and if so, any suggestions? Thank you.

Suggest ordering the microfilm birth records of Noto from your local family history center.

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... +Noto+%28S++

Then you can look for the record yourself. Once you have a copy you will know the exact date and record number to request and official copy.
