I've been searching the familysearch.org website for microfilm rolls of the comune of Castel d'Aiano (also called Villadaiano). It is located in the province of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna. I would think that Bologna was a well known province so they would have at least some information. Can anyone help me figure out if whether or not they do have microfilm or fiche rolls for the town? Is there a possibility the town had a different name in in the mid-1800's?
It looks as though Villa d'Aiano is a section or village in Castel d' Aiano. FHC, unfortunately, does not have civil records for the town or the province. Your best bet is to write directly to the comune.
