Searching for info on Zaccagnini and Narcisi family info

Post by bkwatl »

I'm new here and am trying to find information on my grandparents. My grandfather was Pasquale (Patsy) Zaccagnini from Barisciano. Born May 12, 1894. His father was Louis. He had a brother Joseph born Jan. 2, 1892. That's all the information I have on the family.

My grandmother was Natalina Narcisi (sometimes spelled Narcissi, Narcissa, and Narcisso), born Aug. 30 (or 31st), 1904 in Fontecchio. Her father was Andrew Narcisi born abt. 1870, and her mother was Laura Ciancone (not sure of spelling), born abt 1879. Including my grandmother, there were 13 children. Some of the names are: Victor & Vittaria (twins) born Dec. 4, 1909, Olga & Albert (twins) born Jan. 20, 1914, and Guido born Jul. 18, 1915 - all born in Fontecchio.

I have the Ellis Island information on my grandmother, but not on my grandfather.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Barbara and Welcome to IG!

For reference:

1930 census Shadyside, Belmont, Ohio
Shows Pasquale's year of immigration as 1911 and he is naturalized

Thanks so much for your help! I've been looking for my grandfather's immigration info for ages! I remember my mom talking about a brother (maybe Frank?), but I thought he lived in Buffalo, N.Y. I'll have to keep searching for his brothers and sisters.

As for Andrew Narcisi - I'd found the death certificate. It's odd that his father's name is Juliani...although there was a rumor in the family that he wasn't legitimate. I'd love to find out more about his parents and my great grandmother, Laura's.

Thanks again!

Barbara,

You might try searching the Ellis Island manifests for the family surnames to see if they yield any new information using Steve Morse's gold form which links to the Ellis Island site. It allows more general searches.

My grandparents Remigio Zaccagnini & Elvira Giamberardino left Barisciano in +- 1953 to come to Arlon, south Belgium, with my mother (aged 12), unique child.
In the attachment, you can find their ancestors.
The data are not updated : only Giulio Z. and Pierina still live.
I don't know which is the link between "Pasquale" and them, but I guess there is one !
Good luck.
Serge Gillard.

PS : Excel & Word files are not allowed as attachment ! What can I do ?

My grandfather, Pasquale, had a brother Julius or Giulio. I think I have a picture of him somewhere. If you don't mind, you can email the attachments to me directly at dellababe@comcast.net. Maybe there is a connection!

Thank you!
