Hi,
I am looking for my Italian ancestors,I have very little info and i've been stuck at the same point for a few months.
My great grand father's name was Giovanni Canicchio, born around 1892,he seems to come from Gallucio. From the immigration papers i have found,he arrived in Montreal,Quebec,Canada in 1910-1911 with his wife Vincenza Di Iorio. She was born around 1887.
From the search, her father's name was Federico and she had a brother named Luigi.
Any infos whatsoever would be very much appreciated!!!!
thank you
Canicchio & Di Iorio

Yes i do have those 2 documents. All the kids were born in Montreal, my grandmother is Mafalda. Of course my grandmother does not remember that trip she was only 1 year old.
It seems that Giovanni went back to Italy at least another time, probably to visit family, i have another document (were he appears alone) comming back from Gallucio in 1926.The ship's name was the arabic and it arrived on feb 17 at Halifax from Cherbourg.
That is all i have.
Thanks a million for your help and looking into this!!!

Re: Canicchio & Di Iorio
Hello there! So glad to find this post. Vincenza DiIorio was my grandfathers sister. My grandfather, Antonio DiJorio, born 1890. His father, Frederico/Federico?. Mother Adelaide Miele. Still trying to find more info. Lots of alternate places and name spellings confusing things. lol!
