Looking for Sanguinetti/Coia connection in the Georgia area

Post by adriana295 »

As mentioned I'm looking for my family links to the USA and basically there is a little more mystery on my fathers side.

I am looking for relations of the Sanguinetti who were part of the Canning company in the States in the Early 1900's. My Fathers great gran was the daughter of these people (Rosa born in Carasco, Liguria, Italy) and married a Giuseppe Coia (Venafro, Italy) in GA before moving back to Filignano, Italy.

I'm wondering if anyone is related or knows about them.

I've been looking and there seems to be no record of them going via Ellis Island. Is it possible they went into another port if they were GA way?

go to www.USA-people-search.com for 20 Coia in Georgia and see if you can zero in on a familiar family first name. There are also 29 Sanguinetti in Georgia as well. Put in both names. (one at a time please). =Peter=

Sorry for not listing the port of New Orleans as a nearby mainstream immigrant port.

Resources for finding Passenger arrival records at New Orleans, Louisiana are at http://home.att.net/~wee-monster/neworleans.html =Peter=

You use the word "going" via Ellis Island and now I wonder if you mean going back to filignano, Italy??? If so there are no departure records that are either on line or on microfilm. There might be, however a record of their arrival back in Filignano by writing to the Uffico Anagrafe (census office) in Filignano for censimenti(census record) or Catasti (tax assessment records or lists, if any.

Go to www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/saviello2.html for Italian records and where to write for what. Filignano address can be found at www.nonsolocap.it and after putting in Filignano and clicking Cerca click on the Filignano name when it comes up and website will have address under Municipio for census office =Ufficio Anagrafe. =Peter=

I am the great-granddaughter of Paul Louis Sanguinetti. My grandfather was Battista Anthony Sanguinetti. Yes, they had a cannery in Mountain View, California. My father and his twin brother just celebrated their 91st birthday on July 17th. I would love to get in touch with you and share about our families.
