De Stasio name connection with Hohenstaffen and Frederick I

Post by jmorgan9 »

I was recently told by someone from Italy with the same last name of De Stasio, my great grandfathers name, that the name came from a cadett branch of the Hohenstauffen family of Frederick Redbeard family. Upon further research I realized this is Frederick the 1st, Holy Roman Emperor around 1100's. I have been doing some reading about Italian history, but I am wondering if there is any type of genealogy that has been recored for this family. Since it dates back so far I am not sure the connection can be made. But sometimes nobility has researched by others and there are documents or books available. I thought I would see if anyone knew anything?????

try Google.com and put in title DE STASIO SURNAME GENEALOGY ITALY and perhaps include Hohenstaffen and Frederick I on a second go round inthe title.

The De Stasio genealogy will show any genealogy conducted or being conducted. =Peter=
