Napolitano Acierno Family

Post by sisa »

I have had such amazing luck with locating my DeLuca family tree from this website I would love to look into my Grandmother's family. On my DeLuca family I can go back 4 generations. The follwoing is what I know from My grandmother

Great Grandmother is Felicella Napolitano Acierno - I'm not sure who her parents where. I know they past away and she lived in Naples with a family name of Vitali.

Great Grandfather is Arcangelo Acierno - I'm not sure of his parents either.

Their Children are
1.Patrick Acierno
2.Rose Acierno DeLuca (my grandmother) - Born in USA 1906 est. Married Carl DeLuca (This was information from my previous posting.
3.Rachel
4. Christina
I would love to where they are or who.now if my great grandmother had sibilings and great grandfather had sibilings. My great grandparents parents names. i Know my grandmother use to visit family in Italy. But since she past we are not sure where they may be now.

Here is an Archangelo on an 1896 ship manifest.

Does your grandmother have any living siblings? They would probably know if their parents had any brothers and sisters, and may know their grandparents names. Also, do you know the place of birth of Arcangelo and Felicella? If so, you can mail the comune (City, town) requesting records.

My grandmother Rose does not have any living sibilings. That is why this may become difficult. The records provdied above seem to be corrrect in the names and locations.

I believe that My great grandmother Felicella was raised in Naples. My Grandfather Arcangelo we are unaware of his birth place. Looking at the manifest it looks like the name of Sarrinsanna... but I can not find that location on any maps of Italy.

I was only aware of 4 children of Arcangelo and Felicella. I love to know who Pasquale Giuseppe Acierno was, would it had been a siblings child? This is very interesting.

I really can't think of anything. Do you know the province or region he was from? That could narrow things down a bit.

Just my opinion.... :D

Acierno is a lastname from the Campania region...

http://www.gens.labo.net/

Digit Acierno in "Cognome"

and specifically it's mostly present in the town of Sirignano (Avellino Province - Campania region)

these are the first 6 Comune were you can find the Acierno's

67.16 Baiano Avellino
46.88 Mugnano del Cardinale Avellino
46.05 Napoli Napoli

Thank you.... This is my great grandmother because it has her going to the Pennsylvania address that she lived with my grandmother. Yes the census is not the best.... I have been having my mother dig through old bibles etc that they have. She came across Feliciella's madien name or what might be the spelling Napletana. The date of birth is 1875.

I found Sirignano on the map and sounds closer to what they indicated on the manifest for Arcangelo of Sarrisanna for his place of living.

I was able to complete letters to the Commune's where I thought my great grandparents were born.

So far the Commune Di Sirignano has responded to my letter. It wasn't everthing I asked but it did confirm Arcangelo Acierno was born in Sirignano on December 28, 1874. Another piece of information that they provided was his parents names were Pasquale Acierno and Rosa Colucci. We never knew his parents names. I would have liked to know if Arcangelo had any sibilings that came to America or stayed in Italy.

I'm waiting on a reply from the Commune Di Quadrille where Arcangelo's wife or my grandmother came from Felicella Napolitano ( or Napoletano). They confimred that they were married in America on July 17, 1898. I did not understand what they meant by it was transcribed in the records of marriage in the year 1926.
Thank you, Sisa

Can you post the record for us to look at to be sure? My guess is the Comune added the marriage date in that year to it's records (perhaps someone notified Italy for Naturalization purposes or some other reason).

I can't seem to post the the letter from the Commune di Sirignano. I can email it.
Do you think there is a way to find out if my great grandfather had sibilings?

I need some advise. I'm having a heck of a time trying to get any response on my great grandmother Felicella Napolitano. I tried contacting the Commune di Quadrelle as noted above. But I have received nothing it has been about 3 months. I want to contact them again. What should I do? Because we know nothing about the family. Like her parents names or if she had siblings I'm at a loss. I believe I was told by family that her parents past when she was a young girl and was raised by a close friends family. i can not be for sure. I was excisted when I looked into the towns website, there are many Napolitano's including the Mayor. Any advise you can provide would be greatly appreciated. She was born 1875 and past 1965. She was married to Arcangelo of Sirignano. For that matter I received little information but the confirmation that my great grandfather was from Sirignano and his parents names were Pasquale and Rosa Colucci. So I still need to find out if he had any sibilings. Help I'm at a stand still. Thank you.

Since I have been at a stand still with locating any family for Felicella Napolitano Acierno. I have decided to try and obtain her birth record.
Do the birth records have the name of her parents?
Where should I write?
I have have tried writing to the Commune with no luck on a response.
Should I send any money when I do and if so what amount?

I would appreciate any assistance. Thankyou.
