Searching for Italians from NYC?

Post by JoeVenezia » 14 Mar 2010, 16:03

Hello All,

Another great site for those of us who were lucky enough to have had most of the first generation live, marry, be born, die, etc. in the NYC area....the Italian Genealogical Group has "digitized" the names, dates, certificate #'s, etc. for the five boroughs in the early-to-mid 1900s....from there you can order the actual records from the NYC Office of Vital Records...this has also filled in alot of missing pieces as these documents will many times show the parent's names, place of birth, address, etc. ... home.shtml

Good Luck!

Joe V.
Surnames: Venezia (Atripalda), Ciotti (Roccagorga), Di Giacomo (Polla), Tassi (Ceccano)

Dear Joe add one to the Collection. and
photographic views 0f NYC 1870's to 1970 arranged by borough and street.5400 archival photographs showing exterior building views and nieghborhood scene enabling people to see where they or their ancestors may have resided.
This website ... llection=P may not show so please request Blumenthal, Ralph."Take 2 A PHOTO ARCHIVE OF CITY STREETS", The NY Times (March 14,2000):E1 from the NY Public Library.

However there is a simpler series of TAX photographs taken in the 1930's as well as update in the 1980's for every property, lots and tax exempt buildings in NYC which you can order on line or by mail from $35 to $60 dollars. =Peter=
