The picture on page 2 of the Passport image that suanj posted for you is Angelo Marchese (and probably his wife Antonette)... :-) Very cool to have! You are lucky...

There are 32 listings in the Italian phone book for Marchese in Cervinara.

http://www.paginebianche.it/execute.cgi ... =Cervinara

You may wish to write to inquire if they are a relative, or know of your ancestors. Write the letter in Italian. Here is a link to help you...

The passports are in a book (but we access them through a subscription site called Ancestry). The picture on the left of your grandfather's first page is the second page of the previous passport.

the better way for to find the civil records of your ancestor is to try in LDS Microfilms:
Title Registri dello stato civile di Cervinara (Avellino), 1809-1899
Authors Cervinara (Avellino). Ufficio dello stato civile (Main Author)

Births, marriages, banns, deaths, miscellaneous documents, 10-year indexes.

all the best,

Find the nearest Family History Center for LDS microfilms ...

Use this link and scroll down to enter your zip code.
Films are rented at the FHC and viewed there.
Suanj has given you the list of records available for Cervinara...

Don't worry, we were all new to this at one time

Frank Mancini was probably a good friend (and also a citizen) who could be a witness for them.

Frank was probably the undertaker. On the above record it states that they knew him for 13 years, so he was probably a good friend.
