Daduluia?

Post by ericderrico »

I need some help with my Great Great Grandmother's last name. Her name is Antonia Maria Daduluia but I can't find that name anywhere nor can I think of what might be close to it.

Any thoughts?

Wow, that is a tough one!

I can find some scant evidence of Duluia (google it).

If the name is in any way real, it would most likely be "Da Duluia" with the prefix "Da" meaning "from" as in Leonardo da Vinci (Lionardo di ser Piero da Vinci = Leonardo, son of Piero, from Vinci).

My best guess: Da Duglia. The pronunciation would be about the same, and there is a place named Duglia in Italy. It is a Frazione of Comune di Acri, Provincia di Cosenza, Regione di Calabria, Southern Italy

There are a small number of Duglia's in the current Italian telephone directory, http://www.paginebianche.it/execute.cgi ... &om=0&l=en all in the province of Brescia - which is nowhere near Cosenza...

Frazione = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frazione
Carmine

My hobby is finding things. Having found most of my own, I am happy to help others find theirs. PM me! :)
