Post by historybuff12 » 22 Jul 2010, 05:21

I need some help.

Where can i find a copy of the actual military record for Tomasso Marzetti.
He was awarded the bronze medal of valor. Here are the details I have.

Tomasso Marzetti,Ortona, 17 February 1890 |Ortona, 3 April 1967 ||Son of farmers, the military in 1915, the outbreak of the First World War, was assigned in the front line by participating in several attacks against the Austrians. Separate acts of heroism he was awarded the Bronze Medal of Valor to the Military for the following reasons: "Marzetti Thomas, No Registration 35403, from platoon scout, was hunted with daring, cross-linked through the enemy, fought by the fire, and with the assistance of a companion, was able to shine two tubes of dynamite.
One note....he did not die in the war... he retired and died in 1967

Lately, in San Leonardo, Ortona he has been named the square.

Thanks for any help.

I am sorry, are you referring to Comune di Ortona, Provincia di Chieti, Regione di Abruzzo?

If so, then you can write to:

Archivio di Stato di Chieti
Via F. Ferri, 27
66100 Chieti

Email: (remove the spaces)

See this thread for more detail on how to request military records:
