Families from Moliterno/Saponara di Grumento

Post by DebiHarbuck »

Searching for information about the following families from Moliterno / Saponara di Grumento:

Nicola Latorraca (b. 1843) son of Giuseppantonio Latorraca and Maria Vittoria Cassino

AND

Dominica Maria Filomena Petrocelli (b. 1850) daughter of Pasquale Petrocelli and Caterina Peluso

Nicola & DMF were married in Moliterno on July 22, 1871 and had at least four children: Maria, Caterina, Giuseppe, and Rosina. All four, along with their mother are known to have emigrated to the US between 1899 and 1902.

Any info about these families and/or about records that might be available in Moliterno is appreciated.

Tessa, thank you so much! Yes, I do have the US records for most of them. I have all the ships lists, and census records for Filomena, Maria (married Pietro Roccanova), Giuseppe (married Jenny Pescinella), and Rosina (married Luigi D'Angelo). I haven't been able to track Caterina yet, as my grandmother (daughter of Maria) didn't remember her last name...only "Aunt Kate."

I really appreciate the info about the FHC records for Moliterno and the address for writing to Moliterno directly. That's a huge help!
