Father birth is Paul Messina/Marriage Paul J Messina - prob?

Post by JPMessina44 » 14 Oct 2010, 13:37

I'll explain, my father (part of my chain) was born with no middle name, so the Birth Certificate reads Paul Messina. After his confirmation, where he chose John the Baptist, he starting using Paul J. Messina.

Do I need to get his marriage amended or can I just write a statement as to what happened, explain the J vs the "blank."

Thanks!

The Italian government is picky about names. If at all possible, you should get this fixed.

That's kind of what I figured might be the case. I was thinking maybe getting his confirmation document from his church, that shows his name as Paul J Messina (and also shows the saint that he chose during the confirmation process.)

So many documents, and what feels like so little time. :(
