I have been unsuccessful in finding the Lombardi family of Sora. I have the following information on several of the sisters who immigrated to the US.

The 1930 census Schenectady, Schenectady, New York shows that James immigrated in 1910 Alien, owned hse, electrician $5500 Married age 23. Mary and son Joseph immigrated in 1912. Children Joseph 23, John 12, Pauline 10 and Louis 9 the latter 3 born in NY. I could not locate them on the 1920 census, and their may be other children – (possibly Antoinette Pettica - U.S. Social Security Death Index Birth: 5 Dec 1913 Death: 22 Jan 1994)

3. CATERINA 'CATHERINE' LOMBARDI was born Abt. 1887 in Sora, Lazio, Italy, and died Abt. 1955. She immigrated to the US in 1906 married ADOLPHUS FRASCONE about 1908. Her immigration record has not been found, she was naturalized in 1919. Adolphus Frascone was born Abt. 1880 in Italy. His immigration record shows Adolpo Frascone, age 22, arrived in New York 18 Nov 1902 on the ship Palatia out of Naples. They were on the 1910 Census Boston Ward 6, Suffolk, Massachusetts (name misspelled Adolph Friscone) Their son Thomas was 9 months old born in MA. 1920 Census Akron Ward 8, Summit, Ohio (Name misspelled Adolphus Frascune) Catherine and 7 children. 1930 Census Chicago, Cook, Illinois shows he was 27 when married, she was 21. Adolph Frascone, Katherine and 9 children

4. LORETTA LOMBARDI was born 12 Apr 1891in Sora, Lazio, Italy, and died Jun 13, 1972 in Doctors Hospital, Canton, Stark Co, Ohio at age 81 (death cert incorrectly shows 78). Loreta Lombardi, age 20, arrived in NY 5 Dec 1910 on the ship Italia out of Naples and gave her last permanent address as Sora. She traveled with her husband Saverio Caringi, 21, farm laborer, last address USA (town obscured by 'immigrant alien stamp) both list their relative as brother Guiseppe in Sora and their destination as Canton, OH
At age 18, abt 1909, she married (1) SAM CARINGI probably in Sora. He was born Abt. 1889 probably in Sora. Their first two children were born in PA in about 1912 and 1913. By about 1915 they had moved to Canton, Stark Co, Ohio, where their third child was born. Same Caringi died in Ohio before 1928. In about 1828 she married (2) FRANCESCO ‘FRANK’ CASTELLUCCI (name later shortened to CAST), son of GUISEPPE CASTELLUCCI. He was born 24 Apr 1895 in Sora, Lazio, Italy, and died 20 Jun 1968 in Canton, Stark Co, Ohio. He was 34 when they married, this being his first marriage. Francesco Castellucci age 16 of Sora arrived in New York May 13, 1911 on the ship Principe di Piemonte out of Naples, gave his relative as father Guiseppe of Sora. destination: Cousin Vzo Pelligrino? 420 Lafayette St, Canton, OH. He had at least one sibling, a sister, who remained in Sora, Italy.

Also on the May 13, 1911 Principe di Piemonte manifest are three Lombardi’s from Sora.
1. Francesco Lombardi 17 of Sora lists his contact as his brother Bernardo, 215 Bexley St, Schenectady
2. Guliano Lombardi , 27, single, contact brother Liberato, Lafayette St, Canton, OH; brother Antonio in Sora
3. Francesco Natale Lombardi, 19, whose contact was brother Pasquale, Lafayette St, Canton, OH(his name was crossed off on manifest). These Lombardi’s could possible be related to the Lombardi sisters.

Francesco Castellucci enlisted in World War I in Canton, Ohio on the same date as 2 Lombardis. Liberato Lombardi b. abt and Louis Lombardi b. 21 Mar 1894 son of Vincenzo Lombardi of Sora. Their respective families might look as follows:

Are you absolutely sure that Maria (James's wife) maiden name was Lombardi?
I found an interesting arrival manifest for a Maria Mezzone, age 31, married, from Sora (leaving in Sora her father Giovanni, travelling with her son Giuseppe Peticca, age 5. Them both were going to Steubenville OH to join Maria's husband Vincenzo Peticca.
They were travelling with Loreta Lombardi and her husband Caringi Saverio...

Thanks Laura for all of the great info. I had not found the Peticca or Caringi draft regs. Great find on the Frascone marriage record-That is most definitely them, and yes, Catherine's last name was misspelled, and probably the birthplace Caverton, , Italy.
I do not believe that any of the Lombardi sisters could read or write english early on, so I am not suprised.

I did notice Maria Mezzone and her son on the manifest with Loreta Lombardi, and also assumed it was Maria Lombardi and that she must have been married to a Mezzone prior to her marriage to James/Vincenzo Peticca/Pettica. Some of Loreta's daughters are still alive and provided the information on their aunt Mary Pettica of Schenectady. Family tradition is that Loreta was homesick in PA and she and Sam Caringi moved to Canton, Ohio to be near her sisters Mary and Catherine. The fact that Mary's husband Vincenzo was in Steubenville (near Canton) certainly fits. The Frascones had moved from PA to Canton maybe a year before the Caringi's.

This is a tough line to crack, as nobody seems to have researched it previously. Thanks for the assist!

I did notice Maria Mezzone and her son on the manifest with Loreta Lombardi, and also assumed it was Maria Lombardi and that she must have been married to a Mezzone prior to her marriage to James/Vincenzo Peticca/Pettica.

I found this a little bit strange because here in Italy women keep their maiden name even if married so possibly Maria must have travelled under the Lombardi lastname or at most with the Peticca lastname.

I noticed near the bottom of your post my Grandfather's name Pasquale Lombardi who emigrated from Sora Italy 1923 as also did my Grandmother Domenica and the first two of five children John and Mary. He lived in Canton Ohio Stark County where I was born to his second son Arthur Lombardi. I immagine that he and my father most likely knew all the Italians from Sora living in Canton and that would include Castallucci, but both are now deceased. Perhaps my father's surviving sister Violeta (Lombardi) Svick of Canton Ohio knows The Castallucci family. She resides with her son Rodney Svick in Canton. Although born there, I was an army brat and only visited Canton for family reunions. My Grandmother's maiden name is Seraphiglia. (spelling may be off but that is the pronunciation)
