Vendetti and DiMauro Families

Post by LDallago »

Hello

I am new to this forum, but would really like to find out more about my family history and origins. If anyone has any information regarding the Vendetti or DiMauro family history and ancestry...please contact me.

The only information that I know of is: The family came from Compobasso, Italy. They immigrated to the U.S sometime around 1904. I have found their 1910 census for Buena Vista, Atlantic, New Jersey and their 1930 census for Vineland, Cumberland, New Jersey, but was unable to find their 1920 census or any other information.

Great Great Grandmother:
Maria DiMauro (B: 1857 Italy) (D: 1936 Vineland, NJ)

She had at least 2 daughters: Jennie and Rita (Found Rita in the 1910 census) Maria was Widowed by 1910.

Great Grandmother:
Giavina (aka Jennie) DiMauro (B: 1883 Italy) (D: 1953 Vineland, NJ)
Great Grandfather: Genaro (aka James) Vendetti (B: 1880 Italy) (D: 1936 Vineland, NJ)

James & Jenny had 5 children: Patrick, Rosemary, Mary, Carlo and Joey (Died when he was only 8yrs old. No dates or any mention found)

My Grandmother:
Mary Frances Vendetti (B: 1918 Vineland, NJ) (D: 2009 Vineland, NJ)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

But right now, this may be a possibility for your GGM's arrival...

On Line 28 of the above manifest you will find Rosaria di Mauro, 17, single, also from Campobasso, leaving Aunt Antonia di Mauro in Italy, going to brother-in-law Gennaro Vendetti in Laudsville, NJ(sp?)

Could this be Rita?
