Relatives in Grotteria

Post by dennish »

My Grandfather, Vincenzo Raffaele Agostino was born in 1878, in Grotteria. He emigrated in 1911. His parents were Nicola Saverio Agostino, born 1848, and Caterina Mazzaferro, born c 1849, in Grotteria. Two other brothers, Rocco and Dominic are found in the US for a while, but vanish. Perhaps they returned to Italy? Her parents were Vincenzo Mazzaferro and Elizabetta Fornia.
I realize that Agostino and Mazzaferro are very common names in this area. Any thoughts about how I might try to find relatives still in the area?
Nicola remarried to Maria Belcastro, and had two more children, who emigrated to the US and Australia.
