Rolle vs. Rol

Post by bottino » 20 Jul 2011, 03:38

I have been going through birth records between 1837 and 1812 so far. I have noticed when I am putting families together the occurrence of the two surnames, Rolle, and Rol. It turns out that one child will have a surname Rolle, and a year or two later another child with apparently the same parents will have the surname Rol. Is anyone familiar with this usage of these two names.
