Countessa Anna Elena Mancurti

Post by carolina1 » 06 Aug 2011, 16:26

I have posted a topic before, looking for information on Countess Anna Elena St George Chandos, illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, born in Rome in 1818 and died there in 1887. I now have more information on her.
Her married name was Mancurti and she was a widow when she died. Her address at one time was:
Porta Pia
Via delle Mure Pallazo Tognazi
2 Piano No 9 C
Rome Via Volturro No 12

She was buried on Sat. Sept 17th 1887 in the English Cemetery in Rome. She had always attended the Protestant Church there, often accompanied by the British Ambassador, Sir Paget. However, it seems she died in poverty, with no-one at the funeral, her coffin was made of the "commonest wood, and there was no inscription whatever on it, not even the name or age". She had been entirely abandoned by her relations in Rome.
She had been looked after in her final illness by a "Captain Fioravante".

With this further information, is there anyone who can help me trace who her mother was, her husband and any children she might have had?
