Cannataro/ Morroni

Post by gayleann »

Trying to research about my great grandfather Paul (possibly Ippolito) Cannataro and great grandmother Theresa Morrone. Came over from Italy early 1900's. All I know is Southern Italy.
Any help, guidance, or direction would be appreciated.

Hi Gayle! :-) Welcome to the forum ...

Do you have approx. years of birth for your GGF and GGM?
Where in US did they settle?

If the above census records are your GGF's family... then...
Yes, his name was originally Ippolito :-)

According to his naturalization papers:
He was born in Cosenza, Italy on August 18, 1887
He married Teresa, January 29, 1910 in Pueblo Colorado
Teresa was born in Cosenza in 1894, and arrived in US at Port of New York in 1907.
Paul arrived in US as Ippolito Cannataro, on October 1, 1903 on the SS Hohensollen

Here are some of his Natualization papers :-D

WOW!!!!! This is awesome!!!! I have found some stuff on Ancestry about him. One document is from the ship manifest saying he was going to Pueblo to meet his father. I have tried different angles/sites/possible relatives to find out more about them. I have copies of something from Italy, of course in Italian. I think it is the paperwork stating intent to marry. I don't know who gave me that many, many years ago.

I truly appreciate any input or suggestions you may have to help me continue on this quest.

Sincere thanks
