Roots in the Boot
Anyone have any experience with the company "Roots in the Boot?" As I mentioned in a previous post, I am stuck and am considering using a genealogist at some point in the future. I came across this website, http://rootsintheboot.com. Anyone know anything about them? Thanks.

Have you tried emailing the State Archives in Florence? utenti.archstor@comune.fi.it
They have many parish records for the Tuscany area back to 1815.

Grazie Carmine,
Do you have an opinion of INCIPIT? Most of my work will probably need done on the ground, in Toscana, so I'm a little hesitant to hire someone stateside.

No, but I won't let anyone else do my research either. Have you done any research yourself at the Family History Center? Do you know the towns your ancestors came from?

Re: Roots in the Boot
No I haven't. I researched via ancestry.com and through records I was able to collect from my family while in the process of getting dual citizenship. I also had hired a genealogist in Italy, but he disappeared after doing minimal research (luckily I only paid as results were produced so I didn't pay much). All of that has left me in Pistoia as my GGGF's probable birth place (my GGF was born in Lucca, we have his birth cert). Maybe the Family Research Center is a better way to go. I think there is one an hour or two from where I live.

Looks like the Family History Centre have a good selection of records for that area.

Thanks!! Are the records viewable online or will I have to make a trip to the Family History Center?

Hi, you can try to write the Pistoia Dioceses archive. They have all the parish records for the Pistoia province in there and there is a nice archivist that tries to help with these research.
